As an NC native, I know there are plenty of good shops around town, but where are the best car repair shops in North Carolina? Here’s what Yelp had to say.
6. Meineke Car Care Center
Unlike many of the other car repair shops in North Carolina you’ll see on this list, Meineke Car Care Center is a large chain. You won’t be able to haggle on price and there won’t be much leeway on certain things. That said, many customers have still left happy, especially if they visit the Fuquay Varina, NC location. Many customers have said that the team at this location took the time to go over the repairs with them and make sure they understood everything going on with their car. They are also able to address your needs quickly. One reviewer wrote, “I typically do not frequent chains for car maintenance but I needed repairs completed immediately and they were able to accommodate my needs quickly.” While Meineke has plenty of repair shops throughout the state, this specific location is at 1410 E Broad St in Fuquay Varina. They are open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
5. Randall’s Tire & Auto Repair
Generally, I wouldn’t suggest taking your car to a “tire” shop for other fixes, but Randall’s has a 4-star rating on Yelp with 24 reviews. In addition to tire installation and rotation, Randall’s offers a variety of other services, including exhaust and suspension repair. More recently, the shop was bought by a bigger conglomerate, but that isn’t keeping customers away. “I have been bringing my vehicles to Randall’s for many, many years. I have always appreciated the service I’ve gotten, and that I have always been able to trust Randall and Robert,” one person wrote. Randall’s is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2201 Patterson Ct in Greensboro.
4. Christian Brothers Automotive (Apex)
Christian Brothers Automotive is a chain of shops you’ll see around North Carolina. However, the Apex location comes highly recommended on Yelp. They offer a number of different services but are best known for being a go-to spot for brakes and routine maintenance. Located at 1181 Pine Plaza Dr in Apex, the shop is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. One thing that makes Christian Bros. stand out is its ability to seamlessly communicate with customers. A reviewer pointed this out, writing, “Very easy to communicate via chat and schedule the appointment. They had a shuttle service that dropped me back home and picked me up when my vehicle was done that afternoon. We really appreciated that extra service. I will definitely go back. Repairs were done same day and they took my parts (new in box).”
3. Meadows Automotive

In fact, they’ll even provide you with roadside assistance if needed. “We offer complete auto repair services in the Walnut Cove area from an oil change to a complete engine rebuild,” the business description reads. The shop’s 4.5-star review tells you everything you need to know about Meadows Automotive. One loyal customer left a stellar review. “These guys are my heroes. I know nothing about cars; heck, i’d probably put gas in my radiator if give half a chance. So, when I am in a jam or when I have mechanical problems with my cars, I call them. Always! They go above and beyond the call of duty. They do excellent work.” The person continued, “They never take advantage of my ignorance. They never rip me off. I have been going to them for better than ten years and they always do right by me. To be honest, I can’t imagine seeing anyone else.” This business is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located at 2689 Nc 89 Hwy E in Walnut Cove.
2. Wiggs Auto Service
With 10 reviews and a 4.5-star rating overall, Wiggs Auto Service is another great shop in NC. According to the shop’s Yelp page, they specialize in your regular oil changes, diagnostics, wheel rotation and replacement, as well as several other services. What sets Wiggs Auto Service apart is their customer service. Many people on Yelp were raving about the level of service they received. One woman wrote, “Excellent customer service and excellent quality of work. They even provided me with a ride to and from my house while getting services done. Great fair prices..definitely recommend!” Wiggs Auto Service is located at 445 Williams St Ste A in Fayetteville and they are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
1. TTS Auto Repair & Service
Looking at reviews on Yelp, TTS Auto Repair & Service is one of the most highly-rated shops in North Carolina. It has a total of five stars on the website with 13 reviews. Services available at the shop vary from your run-of-the-mill oil change to transmission repair. One customer wrote, “Honest and reliable (and reasonable too) mechanics that do great work.” TTS Auto Repair & Service is located at 4910 Old Pineville Rd in Charlotte, NC. The shop is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
